2014 Art Summary

I've never done one of these before, so I figuered, why not??
I've improved a lot over the last 12 months, I must say, though Im still not overly happy with my art, and it takes a long time for me to produce actual results.

January -- I was just getting into Tibumeru and just wanted to draw a lot for other people. Not very good at it at the time... but I tried omg. I had a really bad anime style too. help. Full drawing
February -- Slowly improving, still hjfkvsdl yucky, but i was rapidly improving to the point that this particular drawing was extremely hard to do as I was improving faster than I was drawing, and it wasn't consistent??
March -- March was a bit of a traditional month? Lots of reference work, trying to figure out my art style I guess, and anatomy ughhh. Full Drawing
April -- More improvement I think, and I sorta jumped back into digital art again. More pose experimentation, I tried to be more dynamic in the drawing.
May -- Facial practice was my focal point around this area, I think. I like faces, and I wanted to improve them a bit. This one was probably the best of the headshots I drew in May
June -- Around June/May-ish I began reALLY trying to sort out my chibis. Experimentation, shading, figuring out anatomy. To be honest, I still dont have a chibi style and avoid the things like the plague. This drawing was a bit of cell shading practice... that I never used again.
July -- Interaction. Body movements WITH other bodies. This was the first of those drawings of that sort, and I'm certainly better at that sort of thing because of July. Also more shading practice; I slowly figured out how I was gonna colour around this time.
August -- More interaction, more fluidity in the movements, less stiffness, especially in this one. I still obviously need to improve, but its better.
September -- More chibi practice. This one is a lot more refined than June's, but it's still figuring itself out and I dont know when I'll really REALLY be able to chibi properly. Wish me luck. This particular month also saw some perspective stuff happening, and more shading experimentation.
October -- Okay, so, this was actually drawn late September, but I drew nothing in October, so its all I've got. More perspective work, and I really figured out my colouring style around here. Its a style that I've been working off since. Anatomy is still wonky and so on.
November -- First female I've drawn in a LONG time, gosh. I struggled with it, and eventually made her legless whoops. Not much improved here, but I hadnt been drawing since late September, and I was struggling. Little bit of experimentation with hues and luminosity layers.
December -- Back to headshots for the Tibumeru event, yep. I'm rather happy with this one. I stull copy and paste eye shapes a lot of the time, guilty. Its something I need to fix, but I figured out some more layer tricks and did some facial practice. All in all, I'm happiest with this one, though I still have a lot to improve on (limbs).

Frick its been a fast year, and I've made heaps of friends oh my gosh I'm so happy to have met them all I love every one of you (especially if you're actually reading this), but I'd like to quickly thank the ones that helped me with my art over the year. Firstly, to my close friend and hella inspiration, PocketPrism, who definitely motivated me, probably without realising, to improve my art. Also to NotDamien, whose little tips helped me a lot with my art, and general skill pushed me to improve. And to BloodLustingCreature, who stupidly looks up to my art, and pushes me to improve and appreciate it (though Im still working on those, ye mango)
These three probably had the biggest influence on my art, in that order, though I thank you all for everything you've done for me. I love you all yep
